ACOVA HIGHLIGHTS
Administrator Highlight
ACOVA CTE Administrator Highlight: Shelly Finch, St. Johns High School
Shelly Finch exemplifies excellence in Career and Technical Education leadership. As the CTE Director at St. Johns High School in Arizona, Shelly has built a reputation as one of the most efficient, dependable, and forward-thinking CTE administrators in the state. Her superintendent and district leadership never have to worry about the success of their CTE programs—Shelly simply gets things done, and done well.
Her commitment to student opportunity and program growth has been remarkable. Under Shelly’s leadership, St. Johns has successfully launched several new programs in recent years, including Construction, FFA/Agriculture, and Arts, as well as piloting a Computer Engineering course. Rather than shying away from the work and responsibility that come with program expansion, Shelly has consistently embraced new opportunities to provide students with meaningful pathways and hands-on experiences.
Shelly’s efficiency and professionalism are also well-recognized by regional partners. NAVIT Superintendent Matt Weber has praised her as one of the first to complete paperwork, submit requirements, and respond to any task or initiative. Her proactive approach and dedication to excellence have strengthened collaboration and elevated the standard for CTE administration.
Shelly Finch is an outstanding example of a CTE leader who not only oversees programs with precision and care, but also pushes the boundaries of what is possible for students. Her passion and vision continue to shape a future where every learner has access to impactful, career-ready opportunities. Congratulations, Shelly, and thank you for your remarkable service to CTE and Arizona students.
